Within these teams, the Data Solutions Architect is responsible for providing technical expertise and leadership to Data and Cloud Engineers, while also maintaining a systems view that is able to reconcile technical decisions with broader project goals. 

Position Overview:

We are seeking a passionate and driven Data and AI Practice Lead to spearhead our Data and AI initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in data engineering, cloud technologies, and modern data platforms. They should possess the leadership skills to guide a team and the consulting acumen to engage effectively with clients. While advanced data science skills are a plus, we value a candidate’s ability to lead, learn, and adapt over having every technical skill checked off.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Practice Leadership:

            • Strategic Development: Shape and implement the strategic vision for the Data and AI practice, ensuring alignment with the company’s objectives.

            • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of data engineers and analysts, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.

            • Continuous Learning: Stay updated on industry trends in data technologies and AI to keep the practice at the industry’s forefront.

            • Best Practices: Establish methodologies and standards for delivering data and AI projects effectively.

Business Development:

            • Client Engagement: Act as a trusted advisor to clients, understanding their business challenges and proposing suitable data and AI solutions.

            • Pre-Sales Support: Collaborate with sales teams during the proposal and presentation phases to offer technical insights.

            • Relationship Building: Develop and maintain strong client relationships to foster long-term partnerships.

Project Delivery:

            • Solution Design: Oversee the design and implementation of data platforms and analytics systems that meet client requirements.

            • Technical Guidance: Provide expertise in cloud data technologies and guide the team through complex technical challenges.

            • Stakeholder Communication: Lead discussions and presentations with clients and internal teams to align on project goals and expectations.

            • Quality Management: Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and meet quality standards by proactively managing risks.

Technical Expertise:

            • Data Engineering: Lead the development of ETL/ELT processes and data pipelines; optimize data storage solutions.

        • Modern Data Platforms: Architect and implement modern data platforms using lakehouse architectures that unify data warehousing and data serving use cases.

            • Cloud Platforms: Utilize cloud-native tools and third-party platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Snowflake, Databricks) to architect data solutions.

            • AI and Analytics (Nice to Have): Exposure to AI-based solutions and machine learning models is beneficial but not mandatory.

            • End-to-End Solutions: Guide the team in building solutions from data ingestion to delivering actionable insights through analytics or visualizations.

            • Data Migration: Oversee migrations and transformations of databases, both relational and NoSQL.

Consulting and Client Engagement:

            • Advisory Role: Serve as a key point of contact for clients, setting clear expectations and providing strategic guidance.

            • Communication: Translate complex technical concepts into understandable terms for various stakeholders.

            • Documentation: Ensure the creation of clear technical documentation and reports.

Qualifications and Experience:

Technical Skills:

            • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

            • Experience: 7+ years in data engineering, data architecture, or related roles.

            • Cloud Expertise: Extensive experience with at least one public cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP); relevant certifications are a plus.

            • Programming: Proficiency in a programming language such as Python, Java, or Scala.

            • Data Pipelines: Proven experience in building data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes.

            • Databases: Strong knowledge of relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL) and familiarity with NoSQL databases.

            • Modern Data Platforms: Experience with modern data platforms and architectures, including data lakehouses.

            • Data Lakehouse Technologies: Familiarity with technologies such as Delta Lake, Apache Hudi, or Apache Iceberg.

            • Big Data Tools (Nice to Have): Exposure to tools like Hadoop, Spark, or Kafka is advantageous.

            • AI/ML Exposure (Nice to Have): Basic understanding or experience with AI/ML concepts is beneficial.

Leadership and Management Skills:

            • Team Management: Demonstrated experience in leading and mentoring technical teams.

            • Project Coordination: Proven ability to coordinate project tasks and manage timelines effectively.

            • Mentorship: Commitment to supporting team members’ professional growth.

Consulting Skills:

            • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Hebrew and English.

            • Client Focus: Strong ability to build relationships and understand client needs.

            • Consulting Experience: Experience in a client-facing role within consulting or professional services.

            • Problem-Solving: Aptitude for translating business challenges into technical solutions.
