“Team size and roles?
Entire Our team – around 30 people,
SCRUM/project teams are usually around 3-5 people: Developers and Producer (Product/Project Manager responsible for contact with the Client, prioritization of the tasks etc.)
– How many people are working on support? And how are roles spreaded?
As in any other team there are usually around 3-5 people: Developers and Producer (Product/Project Manager responsible for contact with the Client, prioritization of the tasks etc.)
– Are there QA engineers, someone on frontend?
Yes and no, there are frontend developers but QA is a part of the development process (developers test their work before pass it to the Producer, then – if necessary- Client runs a round of tests)
– What about the level of Drupal developers? Do we have someone to ask for help, with some experience in different issues, etc?
We value cooperation and empower developers to ask for help instead of trying to do everything on their own.
Job type? There will be only support tasks? Will I have a chance to work on development in the future?
Our support team also develops features and customizations, they don’t work only with updates/upgrades/bugs 🙂
There is always a possibility to switch teams, it’s just a matter of having a discussion and coming up with a plan for it.
Flow? How does a regular working routine look like in the team right now? Are there any balancing rules to be focused on some projects for a particular person or someone who has free time assigned to tasks that need to be handled?
It depends on the team. Support Team has daily standups (before 11am EST) where they check who’s available and agree on the priorities of the tasks in the queue. SCRUM teams have a planning meeting every week/every 2 weeks where they agree on the plan for the next Sprint.
What my role will be in the near future and where may I grow later?
The initial idea was to invite you to the project where we work on upgrading a D7 website to D8 and decoupling it – adding a frontend in React. During our call you didn’t seem interested in this project so we can also invite you to our Support Team if you prefer that. We always try to pick up interesting projects allowing developers to grow so it’s a matter of making sure we know what’s the direction you want to take.
